Senior Civil/Utility Engineer (Transportation & Infrastructure Relocation)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, US; onsite at Los Angeles, 90012

Salary: $180,000; another listed compensation figure is $225,000.

What you will do

• Lead utility coordination and conflict resolution for transit, municipal roadway, highway, and airport infrastructure projects.
• Act as the technical liaison among project teams, clients, municipal agencies, and utility companies.
• Conduct desktop and subsurface utility investigations, identify conflicts, and verify clearances.
• Review design plans, manage utility conflict matrices, and identify temporary or permanent easements and relocations.
• Prepare utility permits, Notices to Owners, Utility Agreements, cost estimates, schedules, prior-rights determinations, and relocation agreements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on design reviews, specifications, right-of-way data, and project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of professional experience in civil engineering, utility coordination, and related infrastructure activities.
• Active Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license in California.
• Comprehensive knowledge of utility relocation strategies, laws, and regulations across local, municipal, and state jurisdictions.
• Hands-on design, relocation, and construction experience with both wet and dry utilities.
• Understanding of right-of-way requirements and agency compliance standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Exceptional written and verbal interpersonal and client-facing communication skills, including coordinating multidisciplinary teams and facilitating complex stakeholder meetings.

Nice to have

• Ability to design or provide direct technical direction using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
• Established working relationships with local wet and dry utility agencies across California.
