Senior Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Plan, build, and improve background-agent infrastructure for reliable, trackable, and repeatable automated engineering work.
• Develop agent evaluation systems using task outcomes, quality measures, human intervention, cost, and other signals.
• Create evaluation sets and feedback loops for continuous AI system review, tuning, and correction.
• Improve the discovery, adoption, documentation, and use of shared AI tools and developer workflows.
• Evaluate and integrate AI development tools for code generation, AI-assisted review, and testing based on real engineering needs.
• Improve code review workflows and help build the foundations of an autonomous software factory through user research, technical design, testing, observability, reliability, and security practices.

Requirements

• Substantial industry software engineering experience.
• Experience taking technical leadership roles on teams or complex projects.
• Experience improving AI systems, creating evaluation sets, and driving quality improvement through measurement and iteration.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing, building, testing, and operating reliable systems.
• Experience with developer tooling, AI-enabled workflows, agentic systems, infrastructure, or related technical domains.
• Experience working through ambiguity, decomposing complex problems, managing dependencies, and bringing projects to completion.
• Experience in rapidly scaling startups or larger companies, particularly in environments with a strong bias for action.
• Ability to work directly with users, contribute hands-on, make product tradeoffs, communicate technical concepts clearly, and collaborate effectively.
• Uses AI in day-to-day work to amplify skills and outcomes, build fluency through experimentation, and ensure AI-assisted work meets a high quality bar.
