Director of Accounting (AI)

Location: Toronto Office, Canada; hybrid workplace

Salary: CAD 172,000–188,000 per year, plus participation in a discretionary bonus plan.

hirify.global develops an Intelligent Network Operations platform that helps enterprises manage, secure, and optimize networks, including AI-driven agentic operations.

What you will do

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close operations across GL, accounts payable, revenue accounting, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Review ASC 606 revenue recognition, equity accounting, financial statements, flux analysis, and management reporting.
• Lead regulatory, tax-support, lender covenant, and external audit reporting.
• Design accounting policies, procedures, and controls while driving close, reconciliation, reporting, and NetSuite workflow automation.
• Lead accounting due diligence and post-close M&A integration, including opening balance sheets, ASC 805 purchase price accounting, system migration, and policy harmonization.
• Manage, coach, and develop a nine-person accounting team, including three direct reports, and advise senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA certification required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 4+ years managing people.
• Public accounting or audit background and technology industry experience.
• Deep US GAAP expertise, especially ASC 606; working knowledge of ASC 805, ASC 842, and ASC 718.
• Hands-on ERP experience, preferably NetSuite, and advanced Excel skills.
• Proven experience improving close, controls, and accounting processes.
• Hands-on use of AI tools such as Claude to streamline accounting workflows, with the ability to validate outputs and maintain audit-ready controls.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills; able to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities.
