Senior Manager, Data Science (AI)

Location: Remote, United States; the listed base salary range is for US residents only.

Salary: $152,800–$259,200 USD base salary range for the United States.

What you will do

• Lead Product Data Science, including a team of six Data Scientists, and set its long-range vision, roadmap, priorities, and trade-offs.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leaders on complex questions, selecting deep dives, experiments, or production models as appropriate.
• Set standards for experimentation, causal inference, metric definition, and production modeling.
• Hire, coach, retain, and develop a high-performing team, including career paths and performance decisions.
• Build a high-trust culture of urgency, accountability, open communication, predictable progress, and timely quality delivery.
• Raise risks and resource gaps early and provide senior leaders with clear options for decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or a related field, including 3+ years managing data science or analytics teams in B2B SaaS or technology.
• Strong product sense and a track record of partnering with Product and Engineering leaders.
• Exceptional communication skills, including explaining complex findings to Product leaders and executives and coaching others to do the same.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, gather relevant information, and make sound decisions on high-risk, cross-team issues.
• Ability to challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions, and foster inclusive debate.
• Deep expertise in statistics and experimentation, including hands-on use of quasi-experimental methods such as difference-in-differences, synthetic control, and propensity score matching.
• Expert SQL, with Snowflake preferred, strong Python, and experience taking machine learning models to production.
• Fluency with AI tools and sound judgment about when AI output can be trusted.
• Ability to use hirify.global and work effectively in an all-remote, asynchronous company in line with hirify.global’s remote working competencies and values.

Nice to have

• Experience with developer tools, DevSecOps, or product-led growth products.
• Experience measuring adoption and quality of AI-powered product features.
• Internal or external thought leadership in data science or analytics.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field.
