Senior Data Scientist - Consumer

Location: Remote in the United States or from Reddit offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, or New York.

Base salary: $190,800–$267,100 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.

What you will do

• Develop actionable insights through observational causal analysis, experiment meta-analysis, deep data analysis, and research, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders up to the C-suite.
• Guide the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests to improve experimentation practices and maximize learning.
• Create ETLs, tables, dashboards, and self-serve tools for data scientists and cross-functional partners.
• Design, evaluate, and measure team-level KPIs for quarterly goal setting and impact demonstration.
• Engage stakeholders throughout projects to align data science work with business goals and outcomes.
• Mentor junior data scientists and business partners in data science practices and methods.

Requirements

• Advanced degree, such as a Master’s or Ph.D., in a quantitative field including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research.
• For M.S. holders: 5+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles; for Ph.D. holders: 4+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles.
• Expertise querying relational databases with SQL and programming in R or Python.
• Deep understanding of online experimentation, including A/B testing, causal inference, and statistical techniques.
• Comfort working in innovative, fast-paced environments with a bias toward action.
• Strong technical communication and data storytelling skills, including the ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to handle ambiguous and undefined problems by creating action plans, gathering feedback, and iterating.
