Senior IT Network Engineer II

Location: Onsite at the Long Beach, California facility, United States; travel to related U.S. sites may be required.

Base pay range: $124,500–$160,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate, and support network and firewall infrastructure for Corporate IT, Launch, Space Systems, mission control, telemetry, remote operators, and customer connectivity.
• Provide subject-matter expertise and guidance for highly reliable and available IT network infrastructure.
• Lead network upgrades, maintenance, continuous improvement, project scoping, planning, and deployment.
• Establish WAN and LAN networking standards with other Network Engineers.
• Implement infrastructure standards covering policy and cybersecurity compliance, consistent management, automation, reliability, high availability, disaster recovery, reporting, documentation, and cost control.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business professionals.

Requirements

• 8+ years of IT experience and a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience totaling 12+ years.
• At least 5 years of experience in a network-focused technology role.
• In-depth knowledge of Fortinet, Juniper, or Cisco network switching and firewall setup, configuration, and management.
• Expert knowledge of WAN, SD-WAN, routing, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, and firewalls.
• For candidates seeking to work in U.S. offices: must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident, lawfully admitted refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR and related export regulations.

Nice to have

• Specialist qualification such as CISM, AWS, Azure, or Microsoft certification.
• Experience with AWS and/or O365 and Azure enterprise environments.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with one or more of Kubernetes, VMware, Linux, Windows, configuration management, automation, or infrastructure as code.
• Experience with server and storage hardware, backups, HA/DR/BC, Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, DNS, or DHCP.
• Knowledge of security frameworks or technologies such as ISO 27001 and NIST 800-171.
