Network System Engineer

Location: On-site in Scottsdale, Arizona, supporting a government contract; travel up to 50% may be required, including deployment surges and possible travel outside the United States. U.S. citizenship, an active Secret clearance, and a U.S. passport are required.

Salary: $60,000–$180,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Analyze network requirements and design, document, implement, and verify data communications networks supporting satellite ground systems.
• Develop network plans, install components, and configure services to meet program requirements.
• Analyze network topologies, traffic, and capacity needs for monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting during deployment events.
• Support network operations and maintenance across networks with different classification levels, including security configuration, diagnostics, corrective actions, and change documentation.
• Install devices in equipment racks and user workspaces while working primarily in an office and raised-floor computing environment.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related Science or Mathematics field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%, including surges during site equipment deployments.
• U.S. passport, as some travel may be outside the United States.

Nice to have

• Enterprise and high-speed network design and topology experience.
• Juniper JNCIA-Junos, preferably JNCIP, or Cisco CCNA, preferably CCNP.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper SRX-series firewalls.
• Experience maintaining Linux IDM and Windows Server environments, Juniper firewalls, Arista switches, and NAS/SAN storage.
• Experience with multicast and BGP or OSPF routing protocols.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, system hardening, remediation, and technical documentation.
• Experience with public cloud networking and services, including AWS; VMware vSphere and virtual machines; and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Six years of experience integrating and configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and gateways in IPv4 TCP/UDP data communications systems.
• Within the past five years, experience in at least two of the following: systems management or operations in Microsoft or Linux environments; LAN administration, operation, and architecture for 30 or more client systems; mixed Windows and Linux environments; or virtualization of hardware platforms, operating systems, storage, or network resources.
• Collaborative communication, technical leadership, continuous learning, and process improvement skills.
