Survey Party Chief (Land Surveying)

Location: Hybrid role in Columbia, South Carolina, with additional locations in Greenville, North Charleston, Cary, and Charlotte, United States.

Compensation: $28–$40 per hour.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise field survey crews conducting boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
• Operate and maintain GPS receivers, robotic total stations, data collectors, and related survey equipment.
• Interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, and survey plats; perform calculations and traverse closures.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, documentation, and reports while maintaining accurate data collection.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
• Coordinate crew tasks, equipment, logistics, and stakeholder communication with project managers, clients, contractors, inspectors, and property owners; train and evaluate crew members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of land surveying experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with survey equipment and software is preferred.

• Associate or bachelor's degree in surveying or a related field.
