Regional Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Remote role for candidates in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Córdoba, La Plata, or Canelones

What you will do

• Perform balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, account analyses, journal entries, and close activities.
• Explain variances and trends using a driver-based, data-backed approach.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting packages.
• Execute and document SOX and other internal controls with clear audit trails.
• Manage accounts payable, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and expense or budget tracking.
• Support internal and external audits and identify opportunities for accounting process standardization and automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting teams, ideally in multinational or high-growth environments.
• Solid knowledge of accounting postings, debits and credits, and key close processes.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic modeling.
• Advanced or fluent English, written and spoken, for daily international collaboration.
• General understanding of IFRS and core financial statements.
• Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and deliver within tight month-end timelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP Fiori, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience with process automation or data analysis tools such as Power BI, Looker, Alteryx, or RPA.
• Exposure to emerging markets, payments, fintech, or high-transaction-volume businesses.
• Experience with group-level or corporate reporting packages and consolidations.
