Head of Accounting (Fintech)

Location: Remote - European Region; hybrid workplace with fully remote work from almost anywhere, optional offices, and relocation support.

What you will do

• Oversee accounting operations across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and prepare financial statements under IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Manage tax accounting, account reconciliations, bank balances, settlements, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
• Develop accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures while optimizing and automating accounting processes.
• Lead the accounting team and collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
• Experience working with international companies and multiple legal entities.
• Solid understanding of tax regulations and audit procedures.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting process automation.
• English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience in FinTech, payments, banking, or crypto.
• Experience accounting for cryptocurrency and payment transactions.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
