Manager, IT - AV Collaboration Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL — Chicago/Aon Center

Salary: $104,200–$130,200 base salary per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Engineer, deploy, support, and continuously improve enterprise collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams Rooms, Crestron, Logitech, and related conferencing technologies.
• Design AV solutions for conference rooms, training rooms, executive spaces, digital signage, and manufacturing environments.
• Create AV standards, reference architectures, room designs, bills of materials, lifecycle roadmaps, deployment guidelines, and engineering documentation.
• Provide Tier 3 support, lead root-cause analysis, improve monitoring and health reporting, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Lead technical delivery for renovations, new sites, conference-room deployments, and technology refreshes, including design validation, implementation, commissioning, testing, and operational handoff.
• Direct AV integrators, manufacturers, managed service providers, and other vendors while coordinating procurement, licensing, maintenance, warranties, and technical quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience engineering, deploying, and supporting enterprise AV, video conferencing, or unified communications solutions.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms and enterprise conferencing environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of AV system design, audio/video signal flow, control systems, cameras, microphones, displays, audio processing, routing/switching, and room integration.
• Experience troubleshooting complex AV issues across endpoints, networks, platforms, and integrated systems.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, multicast, and AV-over-IP in enterprise AV and unified communications environments.
• Experience developing technical standards, designs, documentation, and lifecycle plans for enterprise technology environments.
• Experience working with AV integrators, technology vendors, managed service providers, and cross-functional infrastructure teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, project coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Microsoft Teams or Microsoft 365 certification relevant to collaboration technologies.
• CTS or another AV industry certification.
• Crestron, Logitech, Biamp, QSC, Cisco, Poly, or other relevant manufacturer certifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing, SIP, digital signage, AV-over-IP, enterprise monitoring, automation platforms, and ServiceNow or similar IT service-management platforms.
• Experience supporting AV environments across corporate, manufacturing, and geographically distributed locations.
