Infrastructure Manager

Location: Remote, United States; must work Central or Eastern time zone business hours and be willing to travel as needed.

Compensation benchmarks: $104,844 at the 25th percentile, $144,307 at the 50th percentile, and $183,770 at the 75th percentile.

What you will do

• Lead daily task, ticket, and project prioritization for a small distributed onshore and offshore infrastructure team.
• Serve as a technical escalation point and reviewer for project plans and complex infrastructure issues.
• Maintain network stability, performance, uptime, documentation, and best-practice compliance across on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Oversee infrastructure and support-tool design reviews, implementations, ticket resolution, and Tier 2 escalations.
• Own on-premises hybrid connectivity, including VPN, edge firewalls, directory-sync servers, telecom vendors, contracts, and asset procurement.
• Monitor critical alerts, perform physical infrastructure work such as racking, cabling, and switch installation, and participate in acquisitions, security initiatives, and cross-team projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or 7+ years of hands-on network experience.
• 3+ years of people management experience, with an interest in coaching and developing a small team.
• Hands-on enterprise networking experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, switching, wireless, VPN, and SSL.
• Working knowledge of Hyper-V virtualization, backup, monitoring tools, Exchange Online, and cloud networking.
• Experience with PowerShell and automation tools for system management.
• Willingness and ability to take a hands-on approach to problem-solving and physical infrastructure work, including racking, cabling, and equipment installation.
• Experience leading a remote or offshore team or working across time zones.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Ability to build credibility with an established team, work closely with peer managers, and work Central or Eastern time zone business hours; willingness to travel as needed.
