Team Leader Design/Drafting (AutoCAD)

Location: Based at one of the following hirify.global locations: Columbus, OH; Canonsburg, PA; Merrillville, IN; Lexington, KY; or Chester, VA. Columbus is preferred. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Salary range: $96,600.00–$144,900.00 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, coach, and provide feedback to designers and drafters while monitoring performance and team goals.
• Evaluate team resources and assign designers and drafters to Field Engineering and Design Engineering projects.
• Maintain AutoCAD templates and libraries and produce 2D and 3D models for natural gas distribution systems and stations.
• Review project plans and specifications, maintain design revision records, and support accurate drafting documentation.
• Aggregate site survey data and integrate GIS data for site analysis, route selection, and environmental assessments.
• Partner with Engineering, Field Operations, Construction, and other stakeholders; support emergency response and possible after-hours outage management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of relevant design/drafting experience.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction principles, piping systems, materials, fittings, supports, specifications, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Proficiency with GIS systems.
• Experience leading design projects from concept through completion and preparing documentation for regulatory approvals and permitting.
• Ability to mentor and train junior designers and drafters and work effectively in a team environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Expertise using AutoCAD 3D.
• Experience leading people and projects.
• Proficiency with industry codes, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures related to utility engineering, construction, operations, and safety.
