Controls Engineer (LNG and Industrial Gases)

Location: Escondido, California, United States. On-site role; remote work is not available. Travel to customer sites worldwide is required.

Annual salary: $99,046–$188,228.

Provides cryogenic pumps, heat exchangers, process systems, turboexpanders, services, and solutions for LNG, liquefied hydrogen, and industrial gases, including fueling stations, marine engines, power generation, carbon capture, geothermal power, and well stimulation.

What you will do

• Develop Controls Engineering quotes and proposals based on customer project needs.
• Create functional specifications and electrical documentation, including schematics, control panel and junction box layouts, component details, and network communication drawings.
• Select control components and materials and create bills of materials for procurement.
• Program PLC, HMI, and Historian systems using FactoryTalk View Studio, PanelView, FactoryTalk View SE, and FactoryTalk Historian.
• Test and troubleshoot panels and control systems and support customers with control system issues.
• Integrate control solutions with customer systems and perform field startup at customer sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–20 years of electrical engineering experience covering the listed responsibilities.
• Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI experience.
• AutoCAD experience for electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
• Experience selecting control components and designing control panels, including panel sizing, fuse and breaker selection, and PLC component sizing and selection.
• Experience starting up control panels and control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and assist customers with control system issues.
• VFD drive experience and electrical code experience.
• Ability to travel to customer sites worldwide.

Nice to have

• Experience with fueling systems, including offloading, dispensing, and fueling stations.
