Principal Technical Program Manager (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Own complex, cross-functional technical initiatives tied to company OKRs and measurable business outcomes.
• Lead cross-team planning, dependency management, prioritization, tradeoffs, delivery cadences, and launch readiness across multiple engineering teams.
• Define and scale the TPM operating model, including intake, planning, reporting, delivery-health standards, quarterly planning, program reviews, and multi-quarter roadmaps.
• Use delivery metrics, retrospectives, capacity data, and resource plans to improve predictability, cycle time, team efficiency, and portfolio decisions.
• Lead organizational change, critical launches, client escalations, and incidents while keeping stakeholders aligned.
• Advise executive leadership, present updates for different audiences, and mentor program managers through influence rather than direct authority.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management or an equivalent strategic technical role, including 3+ years leading programs spanning multiple teams or business units.
• Deep knowledge of Agile software development, including Scrum and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Technical fluency sufficient to understand systems architecture, APIs, integrations, and technical dependencies, and to translate complex systems into business-friendly language.
• Experience driving programs tied to OKRs and measurable outcomes, defining delivery metrics, and using velocity, cycle time, health indicators, and burndown data to forecast delivery.
• Experience with cross-functional prioritization, stakeholder alignment, conflict resolution, autonomous decision-making, and influencing senior leaders without direct authority.
• Experience using Jira and other project management tools, structuring backlogs, defining epics and milestones, and creating executive-ready dashboards.
• Track record of building or scaling a program management function, defining processes, tooling, reporting standards, team structures, hiring or leveling, and mentoring program managers.
• Executive presence and experience advising C-level leaders, making high-stakes decisions under ambiguity, and leading delivery risk resolution.
• Ability to connect technical roadmaps with business strategy, budget, and resourcing decisions.

Nice to have

• Certified ScrumMaster, Professional Scrum Master, or SAFe certification.
• Experience in healthcare, health tech, virtual care, care delivery platforms, or healthcare operations.
• Experience with clinical, pharmacy, or technical integrations.
• Experience in fast-growing or globally distributed teams.
• Experience delivering AI or machine learning projects, including LLM-powered features, automation, or AI integrations.
• Hands-on use of AI tools and experience introducing AI-assisted workflows and measuring their effect on delivery speed and quality.
