2027 IT Operations Summer Intern

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Annual base salary: $50,000–$55,000 USD.

What you will do

• Support end users with hardware and enterprise software issues through email, phone, in-person, and remote assistance.
• Order, configure, and provision hardware, software, and user access for new hires and existing staff.
• Provide status updates, user training, troubleshooting, and escalation to appropriate technology teams.
• Contribute to end-user technology and automation projects through analysis, research, design, documentation, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Create self-service instructions and knowledge base articles while improving end-user support processes.
• Use AI-enabled tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to improve productivity, problem-solving, and workflows.

Requirements

• Pursuing a B.A. or B.S. in Information Technology and Management, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Design, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft operating systems and applications, including Microsoft Office and Windows 11.
• Classroom knowledge of or experience with at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, PowerShell, C#, or JavaScript.
• Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment and interest in learning new technologies.
• Ability to clearly communicate with business users and IT staff through written correspondence, presentations, and meetings.
• Demonstrated teamwork, self-direction, independent thinking, customer service, interpersonal skills, work ethic, and strong verbal and written communication.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future; applicants requiring future sponsorship, including after F-1 OPT/CPT or J-1 status, are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft 365.
• Experience with macOS and Apple iOS.
