Senior Manager Technical Program Management (AI/Wearables)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; minimum 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote

Salary: $140,240–$190,240 annual base pay, plus target performance-based annual cash incentive of 20% of base pay.

What you will do

• Lead technical programs from concept through deployment across systems, hardware, firmware, software, testing, and supply chain operations.
• Provide functional leadership for program-management teams, including supervising, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and developing senior program managers and managers.
• Drive solution execution through concept definition, requirements validation, architecture specification, governance compliance, system integration, release management, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and pilots.
• Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Experience Design, Sales, Services, IT, Finance, Engineering, Support, Business Development, and Legal to define products, business cases, specifications, partnerships, and delivery plans.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, regulatory compliance, risks, obstacles, continuous improvement, and time-to-market across complex programs and distributed teams.
• Lead strategic initiatives, innovation roadmaps, business plans, sales enablement, product launches, supplier relationships, and intellectual-property activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM field required.
• At least 12 years of engineering, technical program management, and Scrum Master experience in fast-paced product environments, including at least 2 years supervising or managing a team.
• Experience developing small-form-factor hardware products for consumer or enterprise customers, such as wearable computers, barcode ring scanners, headphones, or IoT devices.
• Past responsibility for multiple significant AI and/or SaaS solution offerings delivered to market.
• Enterprise technical program management experience and professional-services experience with external clients.
• Demonstrated experience working in a PMO.
• Understanding of AI development lifecycle activities across development and go-to-market perspectives.
• Experience with firmware, BSP, Android and iOS applications or utilities, cloud development, and software/services integration.
• Experience with program and solution lifecycle management, ISO compliance, budgets, forecasting, accruals, invoicing, contract and SOW management, and strategic supplier relationships.
• Advanced expertise in software-development practices including Scaled Agile, TDD, continuous integration, risk management, and solving technical, quality, cost, and schedule challenges.
• Strong strategic, analytical, communication, critical-thinking, questioning, collaboration, resource-management, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience defining solutions from skeleton use cases and managing cross-functional impacts, uncertainty, and continuous innovation.

Nice to have

• Technical leadership in wearable-product human factors, UI/UX, and integrating AI/ML capabilities into power-constrained edge devices.
• End-to-end NPI planning experience covering marketing, launch planning, supply chain, manufacturing, post-sale support, and repair services.
• Experience managing business-unit budgets up to $15M.
• Experience architecting and executing digital-transformation initiatives using AI, automation, and data analytics.
• Master’s degree.
