Senior Payroll Specialist

Location: Cluj-Napoca, Romania; onsite at 3rd Emile Zola Street

What you will do

• Support accurate, timely, compliant, and controlled payroll operations across EMEA countries and legal entities.
• Prepare, review, and validate monthly payroll inputs and outputs with HR teams and local payroll providers.
• Contribute to a two-year regional payroll transformation, including vendor consolidation, provider transitions, and operating-model changes.
• Support Workday and Replicon integration, migration from manual processes, testing, parallel runs, go-live activities, and post-implementation stabilization.
• Support payroll-related M&A, new-country, and new-legal-entity activities, including due diligence, data review, onboarding, testing, and integration.
• Maintain payroll documentation and controls, investigate issues, support reconciliations and audits, and guide payroll colleagues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally across multiple countries, legal entities, or regional payroll operations.
• Strong end-to-end payroll experience covering validation, reconciliations, controls, reporting, and issue resolution.
• Experience supporting payroll transformation, provider transitions, vendor consolidation, system migration, or payroll operating-model changes.
• Experience with payroll implementation or integration activities, including provider onboarding, employee data migration, testing, parallel payroll runs, or go-live support.
• Good understanding of payroll compliance, audit requirements, confidentiality, data accuracy, and internal controls.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple deadlines, investigate discrepancies, and communicate progress clearly.
• Collaborative approach when working with HR, Finance, Global Mobility, HRIS, local country contacts, and external payroll providers.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting payroll activities related to M&A, new legal entities, or new-country setup.
• Exposure to Workday and/or Replicon, payroll automation, process improvement, and systems optimization.
