Financial Controller (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in Winnersh or London, United Kingdom; attendance at the Winnersh office at least once per week is required.

Salary: £75K–£85K per year.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day Finance operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Manage, coach, and develop the Accounting, AP, AR, and Payroll teams.
• Own month-end and year-end close, balance sheet integrity, working capital, treasury, liquidity, and payment controls.
• Oversee risk management, tax compliance, statutory reporting, audits, and relationships with external advisers, auditors, accountants, and banks.
• Build a scalable finance operating model supporting international expansion and strategic growth.
• Lead finance transformation through process improvement, automation, system optimisation, and implementation projects; partner with FP&A and senior stakeholders on reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and decision support.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent certification.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Financial Controller.
• Experience with inventory processes, including purchase orders, prepaid orders, consignment stock, and cost of goods sold.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience producing management and statutory accounts.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow in a growing business.
• Experience implementing systems and optimising system utilisation; strong systems knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and lead, scale, and develop teams.
• Excellent attention to detail, strategic thinking, and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Immediate availability or a notice period of no more than two weeks is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, e-commerce, or other regulated industries.
• Experience working in a scale-up environment.
• Experience with Xero, ADP, ApprovalMax, ExpenseIn, FloQast, or similar systems.
