Senior Backend Developer – Rust / C++ / Python / Java (Media Processing)

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, maintain, and support backend services for media processing and packaging.
• Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions for media delivery across devices.
• Develop and optimize services running on Google Kubernetes Engine and other cloud-native environments.
• Work with video and audio processing, transcoding, adaptive streaming, and CDN distribution.
• Optimize high-throughput processing pipelines for performance and resource efficiency.
• Own service reliability, observability, maintainability, and cost efficiency while contributing to architecture and design decisions.

Requirements

• Proven experience developing or operating media delivery systems.
• Strong understanding of adaptive and segmented streaming, media packaging, and transcoding.
• Practical knowledge of video and audio codecs including H.264, HEVC, AV1, and AAC.
• Experience with MP4, MPEG-TS, HLS, and DASH media containers and streaming formats.
• Proficiency in a systems-level programming language such as Rust or C/C++.
• Strong backend development experience with Python and/or Java.
• Experience developing and operating production backend services at scale.
• Familiarity with Google Kubernetes Engine and cloud-native environments.
• Understanding of high-throughput pipelines, performance optimization, monitoring, and observability.
