Sr Associate, AI Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Hybrid in Thessaloniki, Pylaia, Greece; the role is also posted for Athens, N. Psychiko, Greece.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale Generative AI applications using modern LLM frameworks and technologies.
• Build RAG pipelines, retrieval systems, knowledge graphs, and agentic workflows for enterprise knowledge retrieval, document processing, scientific applications, and research support.
• Integrate AI services and third-party APIs into production-ready enterprise platforms.
• Build reliable, maintainable Python applications and services around AI capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging AI models, tools, and frameworks and assess their applicability to real-world use cases.
• Collaborate with data scientists, statisticians, software engineers, domain experts, and business stakeholders; contribute to applied research, scientific publications, and conference submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative or technical field.
• Relevant industry, academic, or research experience in software development, machine learning, data science, or AI: approximately 3 years with a BSc or 1 year with an MSc.
• Programming experience in Python.
• Working knowledge of core Generative AI concepts and architectures, including LLMs, RAG, and AI agents.
• Ability to independently develop and iterate on technical prototypes and turn ideas into working solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with REST API design and integration, React or another modern front-end framework, vector and SQL databases, Git and GitHub workflows, Linux, AWS or another major cloud platform, LLM evaluation, observability or testing, Docker, and containerized applications.
• Experience in scientific, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated environments.
