AI Engineer

What you will do

• Rebuild validated prototypes as production AI agents on the enterprise AI development platform.
• Build reusable pipeline modules for retrieval, screening, data extraction, drafting, and quality control.
• Develop and refine AI workflows with delivery teams, run pilots on live projects, and measure time saved.
• Maintain existing AI tools, handle routine runs and change requests, and package applications for deployment.
• Write tests and evaluation harnesses, follow engineering standards, and work through Agile sprints, Jira tickets, merge requests, and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Informatics, Information Technology, or Data Science.
• 3–4 years of industry experience, including 2–3 years in AI/ML-related roles.
• Advanced Python and strong software engineering practice, including Git, CI/CD, unit, integration, and end-to-end testing such as pytest.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs such as FastAPI, with evidence of application in a business or academic setting.
• Hands-on experience building LLM applications using RAG, embeddings, vector stores, chunking, hybrid search, tool calling, agent workflows, and LLM APIs such as Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock.
• Experience with NLP and information extraction from unstructured documents beyond LLM prompting, including entity extraction or text classification.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, such as PostgreSQL, including data modelling and query optimization.
• Experience with workflow automation, agentic AI development tools, Agile delivery, sprints, Jira, and merge-request-based code review.
• Fluent English, strong technical writing and documentation skills, excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work independently and in teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Data Science.
• Experience in regulated industries such as pharma, healthcare, or finance, including confidential data, responsible AI, and GDPR compliance.
• Document computer vision, including OCR, layout and table detection, and extracting data from figures.
• Agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, MCP servers, LLM evaluation, monitoring, and cost tracking with tools such as LangSmith or Langfuse.
• R, Shiny, UI/UX design for internal tools, Docker, and Linux.
• Experience with evidence synthesis or health economics and outcomes research, including systematic literature reviews or indirect treatment comparisons.
