Endpoint & SSE Security Engineer

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work with days agreed between working from home and the ING MAD office

What you will do

• Maintain enterprise Secure Service Edge (SSE) platforms and ensure stable, secure operation.
• Support deployment and adoption of web security, DLP, and internet access protection capabilities.
• Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve SSE services and identify automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams on solution implementation projects.
• Participate in on-call support rotation and critical incident response.
• Develop technical documentation and operational procedures.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience administering and managing proxy server environments.
• Practical experience securing workstations and endpoint devices, including malware protection, device control, and security policy enforcement.
• Knowledge of DLP technologies, processes, and controls, plus experience implementing and maintaining web security and internet access control solutions.
• Understanding of Secure Web Gateway (SWG), proxy, URL filtering, and traffic inspection concepts.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID and identity-related security controls.
• Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and security issues; knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and proxy architectures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills, with a results-oriented and continuous-improvement mindset.
• Readiness to participate in an on-call support rotation.
• English level: C1.

Nice to have

• Experience with Enterprise DLP solutions such as Microsoft Purview, Symantec DLP, or Forcepoint DLP.
• Experience with cloud security technologies and SSE/SASE platforms.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Purview.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles, CASB technologies, security monitoring, and incident response processes.
• Experience automating operational tasks and reporting.
• Relevant security certifications.
