AI Software Engineer – MCP & Agents

Location: Ghent, Belgium; hybrid working setup.

What you will do

• Build and expand MCP tools that enable AI agents to interact with the core transport management platform.
• Develop and maintain internal agent infrastructure and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with customer success, engineering, product, and domain teams to turn logistics challenges into practical AI workflows.
• Monitor, maintain, and improve production AI systems, optimizing cost, latency, reliability, scalability, and observability.
• Bring AI prototypes into production and develop features such as document extraction, matching flows, quality checks, chatbots, and automated bookings.
• Contribute to hirify.global’s long-term AI strategy and roadmap while identifying opportunities to improve the product.

Requirements

• Experience in software engineering, applied AI, or similar technical roles.
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python and/or modern backend languages.
• Experience designing MCP interfaces.
• Experience with AI agent toolchains and frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, AgentConnect, or FastMCP.
• Ability to experiment quickly, iterate rapidly, and validate assumptions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and domain experts.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying and operating AI/ML systems in a production environment.
• Experience with document processing, NLP, or conversational AI.
