Senior Hardware Engineer (Drone Port)

Location: On-site in Gilching, Bavaria, Germany. Mobile work is available one flexible day per week.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical point of contact for core hardware topics across the Drone Port product.
• Develop hardware concepts and support architecture and design decisions for current and future Drone Port generations.
• Guide hardware development from concepts and prototypes through technical verification, system validation, series readiness, and customer demonstrations.
• Contribute to PCB, wiring harness, electronic, and mechanical system designs; build, commission, integrate, and test prototypes.
• Provide technical leadership and support to hardware, electronics, testing, embedded software, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Manage bills of materials, component availability, technical documentation, inventory, development materials, procurement coordination, suppliers, and workshop operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable discipline.
• Several years of professional experience developing technical systems and designing hardware.
• Strong CAD skills.
• Experience building and testing electronic and mechanical prototypes.
• Experience industrialising prototypes and transitioning them into series production.
• Experience with bills of materials, component management, and suppliers.
• Structured, self-directed, and solution-oriented approach to work.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CATIA V5.
• Knowledge of German.
