What you will do

• Lead the structural design of launch vehicle primary and secondary structures, including propellant tanks, interstages, thrust structures, payload adapters, fairings, engine support structures, avionics structures, and ground handling and transportation hardware.
• Establish structural architectures and load path concepts, and guide design trades covering mass, stiffness, manufacturability, and recurring cost.
• Ensure designs satisfy vehicle-level requirements and interface definitions, and drive design maturity through all development phases.
• Lead detailed CAD model and engineering drawing creation, establish model-based design standards where applicable, and ensure configuration management compliance.
• Coordinate with analysis, loads, mechanisms, manufacturing, materials, AIT, and systems engineering disciplines so analysis results support design decisions and compliance requirements.
• Lead team planning, hiring, onboarding, succession planning, performance management, engagement, and alignment of the team roadmap with company strategy in partnership with the HR Business Partner.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, aerospace, mechanical or computational mechanics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant aerospace experience focused on structural design and development.
• 3+ years of relevant experience leading a hardware development team.
• Independence and confidence in assessing and trading design risks, with a holistic perspective on system development.
• Highly organized and proactive, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Siemens SimCenter, and Siemens Teamcenter.
• Fluent English.
