Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails/Hotwire)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite

Annual base salary including 8% holiday allowance: €65K–€85K, depending on experience and interview performance.

What you will do

• Own full-stack delivery within an engineering squad, covering backend logic, database design, and server-rendered UI.
• Lead the migration of Ember features to Rails and Hotwire in collaboration with product managers and designers.
• Handle support escalations and legacy bug fixes while keeping the codebase healthy and customers unblocked.
• Improve CI/CD practices and the deployment pipeline toward more frequent and reliable releases.
• Build and maintain Learning Management System integrations using LTI and partner APIs, with attention to performance across the stack.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, documenting pragmatic engineering decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with Ruby on Rails as the primary production stack.
• Regular experience with RSpec and Capybara and a strong testing practice focused on meaningful coverage.
• User-oriented approach to feature decisions and experience working effectively in a legacy codebase.
• Good understanding of CI/CD practices and the ability to improve them where needed.
• Clear communication, constructive code review skills, collaboration, pragmatism, and documented technical decision-making.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Ember.js or migration scenarios from Ember.js to Hotwire.
• Experience with AI development tooling, Azure, or observability practices.
