Laboratory Assistant (In Vivo Pharmacology)

What you will do

• Perform in vivo studies to characterize mechanisms of action and compound efficacy, including new drug candidates.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and established or new experimental approaches using advanced laboratory equipment.
• Analyze and interpret experimental results and prepare reports and presentations.
• Support colleagues in planning and executing experiments and maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebook records.
• Conduct literature searches, review scientific information, and suggest applications for new techniques.
• Maintain equipment, laboratory areas, and supplies while following applicable regulations and protocols.

Requirements

• Higher National Diploma in technical science education (FP2) with 5+ years of biomedical research laboratory experience in pharmacology, or a Bachelor of Science with 2+ years of research laboratory experience.
• EU license to work in procedures and projects involving laboratory animals, or equivalent, is required.
• Proficiency in mouse handling and dosing, including intradermal, intralesional, topical, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, intravenous, and oral gavage routes.
• Ability to independently process and analyze tissue samples from rodents and/or minipigs using advanced technologies.
• Excellent aseptic cell culture technique for human and murine primary cells and transformed cell lines.
• Proficiency with data-analysis software such as Prism, FlowJo, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving ability, effective communication, data interpretation and presentation skills, accountability, prioritization, and adaptability.

Nice to have

• Experience with RT-PCR, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and Western Blot techniques.
• Experience with immunology techniques for isolating and conducting ex vivo analysis of cells from animal tissues or human skin samples.
• Ability to communicate in English.
