Transmission Project Manager (Electric Utility)

Location: Hybrid position based primarily at the SCE facility in Pomona, California; employees are generally required to work and reside in California. Up to 25% travel and field work across the SCE service territory is required.

Salary: $143,900–$215,800 per year

What you will do

• Lead the planning, execution, control, and closure of one or more transmission and distribution projects.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, project status, materials, documentation, and system closeout.
• Coordinate engineering, licensing, procurement, construction, public affairs, local governments, and external customers.
• Develop project applications, compliance and safety documentation, regulatory filings, work packages, testing procedures, and energization sequences.
• Perform complex power flow and fault analysis to determine transmission-line system impacts and requirements.
• Attend project job walks and coordinate work across SCE facilities and service-territory locations.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in project management.
• Ability to manage moderately complex projects under time constraints, shifting priorities, and limited supervision.
• Ability to independently direct project scope, schedule, and budget activities and make critical decisions.
• Experience coordinating transmission or distribution projects, including designs, schedules, compliance and safety documentation, regulatory filings, and agency coordination.
• Experience leading stakeholders and integrating work across functions while managing risks and communicating information effectively.
• Ability to protect physical, financial, cybersecurity, customer, proprietary, medical, and other sensitive information with integrity.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP certification or a Project Management Certificate.
• Planning or construction experience with an electric utility and experience in construction project management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction maps and plans.
• Experience leading large capital projects and coordinating multiple deliverables, presentations, meetings, status reporting, costs, resources, schedules, and records.
• Experience with SharePoint, BI dashboards, data analytics, Microsoft Office, and CoPilot.
