Engineer, Hardware / Electronics (Automotive)

Location: Queretaro, Mexico; hybrid schedule with 60% office and 30% home; willingness to travel up to 10%.

What you will do

• Design electronic hardware for automotive audio head units, infotainment, and ADAS systems through the complete product life cycle.
• Develop system designs, schematics, BOMs, specifications, simulations, DFMEAs, WCCA tasks, and related documentation.
• Support PCB layout for EMC, signal integrity, power integrity, and mechanical compliance, and participate in schematic and layout reviews.
• Execute and document hardware verification, environmental and EMC validation, circuit measurements, testing, and issue mitigation.
• Analyze customer requirements, troubleshoot component, manufacturing, validation, warranty, and customer issues, and determine corrective actions.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, process, test, and quality engineering teams; provide customer RFI/RFQ responses and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience designing analog and digital circuits, including concept design, schematic entry, measurements, testing, and failure analysis.
• Ability to use CAD tools for schematic capture and printed circuit board design.
• Knowledge of electronic component technologies, electronics manufacturing processes, circuit troubleshooting, corrective actions, and cost optimization.
• Knowledge of electrical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and multimeters.
• Familiarity with Functional Safety product lifecycle management and automotive EMC requirements such as CISPR-25, FCC Part 15, or ISO 11451.
• Strong analytical, communication, detail-oriented, self-starting, and multitasking abilities, with the ability to move from theoretical concepts to implementation.
• Good proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with infotainment and ADAS technologies, including high-speed SoCs, DRAM, flash, microcontrollers, CAN, Ethernet, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, LVDS video, cellular modems, radio tuners, USB, audio amplifiers, displays, and linear or switching power supplies.
• Familiarity with Class AB and Class D amplifier output topologies.
• Electrical simulation experience with ANSYS signal integrity and power integrity, SPICE, MathCAD, or similar tools.
• Signal integrity simulations and measurements, high-speed circuit design, and extensive power supply experience.
• Engineering product life cycle management experience, Automotive Functional Safety certification, or ASPICE training/certification.
