Engineering Intern (Software)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; work at the Charlotte office. Part-time during the academic year and full-time during the summer.

Pay: $24.25–$33.00 hourly.

What you will do

• Support the software development process and implement software designs.
• Verify that software meets requirements and execute engineering quality assurance procedures.
• Provide engineering staff support and document defined testing procedures.
• Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
• Apply SEL values, operating principles, and World Class Manufacturing principles.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a computer science or equivalent degree at an accredited university in the Charlotte area, with at least one year of technical coursework completed.
• Programming experience in C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Ability to execute and document defined testing procedures.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check results and negative drug test result(s).

Nice to have

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
• Practical knowledge of developing Microsoft Windows or web applications.
• Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
• Experience with revision control and source code management systems such as Git or Rational ClearCase.
