2027 Sophomore Internship Program - Software Engineer Intern, Ashburn (Fintech)

Location: Ashburn, Virginia, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days in the office and 5–10% travel.

Salary: $41–$48 per hour USD.

What you will do

• Contribute to hirify.global technology projects as part of a 12-week sophomore internship.
• Build self-service Kafka cluster deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop chatbots, payment prototypes, mobile banking applications, and tools for automated processes.
• Create testing and visual monitoring tools to identify system errors and transactional issues.
• Design, code, and test software for routing digital currency transactions.
• Support full software lifecycle activities and learn secure coding practices.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2028 and August 2029.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in one or more of Java, C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
• Experience with automation or testing tools such as Selenium, REST, Python, or Groovy.
• Familiarity with software testing principles and software engineering methodologies.
• Ability to document processes, perform analysis, solve problems, lead, and handle ambiguity.
• Collaborative, resourceful, motivated, and results-focused approach.
