Software Engineer, Intern - 2027 Ashburn, VA (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Ashburn, Virginia, United States; at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $41.00–$48.00 per hour for U.S. applicants; the range may include potential sales incentive payments.

What you will do

• Contribute to software engineering projects within technology teams during a 12-week internship.
• Build self-service deployment solutions for Kafka clusters using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop a natural-language chatbot for knowledge-base searches and create mobile banking application factory capabilities.
• Prototype automated payment solutions, including gas-station payments and digital-currency transaction routing.
• Develop automation, testing, and visual monitoring tools to identify system errors and transactional issues.
• Support the full software lifecycle while learning and applying secure coding practices.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
• Graduating between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in one or more of Java, C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
• Experience with automation or testing tools such as Selenium, REST, Python, or Groovy.
• Familiarity with software testing principles and strong understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
• Ability to document processes and perform analysis.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead and handle ambiguity effectively.
