Backend Engineer, Profile & Community

Location: US - Remote Eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required.

Salary: $162,000–$186,000 USD base pay range.

What you will do

• Build the social graph, social features, profiles, and community foundations used by Airbnb guests and hosts.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across the stack and with Knowledge Graph, Search, Listings, Trips, and other partners.
• Define and execute products and features that help guests and hosts create accounts and profiles.
• Build reusable backend components and architect reliable, performant, scalable systems.
• Evaluate and prototype technologies that enable faster iteration across the technology stack.
• Mentor and support engineers on the team and in related teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience building and scaling high-quality, high-traffic products or systems.
• Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions for real-world problems.
• Ability to drive alignment, manage projects, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
