Senior Software Engineer (DeFi)

Location: Remote; EU timezones preferred. Annual in-person team offsites are required.

Base salary: USD $150,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity, ZRX tokens, and benefits.

hirify.global builds developer APIs for Web3 trading, including Swap, Gasless, and Cross-Chain APIs used by wallets, exchanges, trading apps, bridges, and developers.

What you will do

• Build new APIs and trading products from problem research and architecture design through initial production release.
• Maintain and extend existing APIs, including integrations with new chains, bridges, and customer-requested features.
• Improve API speed and reliability as traffic grows and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Investigate failed trades and stuck transfers using logs, traces, and onchain data, then resolve root causes.
• Work with product, legal, and go-to-market functions to translate business and compliance needs into technical decisions.
• Write design documents and review teammates’ designs and pull requests.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, including at least 2 years in DeFi at a trading app, wallet, DEX aggregator, onchain data company, or similar organization.
• Senior or Lead Engineer experience with ownership of complex projects end to end.
• Experience building and maintaining developer-facing APIs.
• Deep onchain knowledge, especially EVM transaction mechanics, including calldata, contract interfaces, gas, and approvals.
• Strong system design experience for production-scale backend services.
• Ability to use AI as an engineering productivity tool while retaining independent judgment.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-engineers.

• Availability to attend annual in-person team offsites around the globe.

Nice to have

• Experience with cross-chain systems, bridging, or DEX aggregation.
• Experience with ecosystems outside EVM, such as Solana.
• Experience with TypeScript and/or Rust.
