Warehouse Area Manager

What you will do

• Lead inbound receiving and stow or outbound pick, pack, and ship operations for an assigned shift.
• Manage throughput, service-level agreements, quality metrics, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment speed.
• Coach shift leads and frontline associates through one-on-ones, feedback, retention initiatives, and internal promotion pipelines.
• Identify bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate labor forecasts, inbound and outbound volume, yard capacity, freight carriers, marketplace partners, and vendor compliance exceptions.
• Enforce safety protocols, audit SOPs, and maintain 5S facility standards.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of direct supervisory experience managing hourly frontline teams, preferably in a high-volume fulfillment center, distribution hub, or manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data modeling.
• Ability to interpret production metrics and make shift-level labor adjustments.
• Practical experience with process mapping, SOP development, and training diverse workforces on standardized work instructions.
• High emotional intelligence, including constructive feedback, floor-conflict resolution, and inclusive team leadership.
• Willingness to work non-standard shifts, peak-season surges, alternating weekends, and extended hours as business volume requires.
