Laboratory Operations Manager (Veterinary Diagnostics)

Location: On-site in Dallas, TX, United States

Salary targeting: $125K, depending on experience; annual cash bonus and performance-based merit increase opportunities.

What you will do

• Direct day-to-day operations of a 60+ person veterinary diagnostic reference laboratory.
• Manage business planning, staffing, performance metrics, supervisory staff, and day and night shift operations.
• Own laboratory revenue, profitability, quality, efficiency, and business results.
• Lead laboratory budgets, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and implement continuous-improvement strategies, including lean approaches, to improve efficiency and maintain quality.
• Drive collaboration, employee development, change adoption, and operational results.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience overseeing or managing a large, fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Proven success managing a large team with a focus on employee performance, empowerment, and development.
• Experience as a change agent, with applied experience in lean manufacturing and implementation.
• Ability to adapt departmental plans and priorities to resource and operational challenges in a global company.
• Strong organization, prioritization, work-direction, and project management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to senior management and direct reports.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and other PC applications, with comfort using computers extensively.
• A bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related field is preferred.
