Business Intelligence Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based out of the Las Colinas office in Irving, Texas, with in-office presence required 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Write and maintain SQL queries, data models, transformations, scripted extraction and transformation pipelines, dashboards, and recurring reports.
• Translate business questions into technical requirements with analysts, engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders.
• Reconcile data across sources, investigate discrepancies, validate accuracy, and monitor data quality.
• Document data provenance, metric definitions, confidence levels, and discrepancies; treat missing or failed data as unknown rather than confirmed zero.
• Test pipelines under realistic volumes, rate limits, and source failures; contribute to code review, version control, documentation, and team standards.
• Support ad hoc analysis, prioritize requests, communicate outcomes on time, and develop toward end-to-end dataset ownership.

Requirements

• Background in computer science, data science, statistics, information systems, business analytics, or a related field.
• Working proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregations, and window functions.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts such as dimensional modeling and star schemas through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Familiarity with at least one data visualization tool.
• Ability to verify outputs against independent sources and explain how the work was checked.
• Comfort working with poorly documented or changing source systems, including inspecting web application behavior or undocumented APIs.
• Experience using AI tools in analysis work while independently validating their output.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, written communication, and verbal communication skills, including explaining findings to non-technical audiences.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Internship or project experience building dashboards, reports, or data pipelines.
• Python scripting for data extraction, validation, or automation.
• Exposure to data quality checks, testing, or audit-trail practices.
• Exposure to cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, or transformation tools such as dbt or Airflow.
• Interest in cybersecurity, cloud, or AI products and the data they generate.
