Platform Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Deploy, operate, and upgrade self-managed hirify.global Cloud environments in customer-controlled accounts, sovereign clouds, and US Government clouds, including air-gapped and egress-restricted environments.
• Design and maintain Terraform infrastructure, Helm charts, Kubernetes clusters, platform services, and automation across AWS, Azure, GCP, and alternative Kubernetes distributions.
• Own operational health through monitoring, alerting, capacity management, patching, database operations, backups, recovery, and Kubernetes lifecycle upgrades.
• Participate in production support and incident response, perform root-cause analysis, and improve runbooks, observability, automation, and upgrade paths.
• Implement security and compliance controls, including hardened images, FIPS cryptography, RBAC, network segmentation, private connectivity, Vault secrets management, and FedRAMP evidence.
• Work with customer platform and security teams, extend CI/CD and automated testing, contribute to Java/Spring Boot microservices, and mentor others on government deployment patterns.

Requirements

• US citizenship and eligibility for security clearance are required because the role supports US Government and FedRAMP customers.
• BS degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or production engineering, including hands-on ownership of production systems.
• Deep practical Kubernetes expertise covering cluster provisioning and lifecycle, networking, storage, RBAC, autoscaling, and workload troubleshooting in managed and self-hosted distributions.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Helm, Linux, and cloud networking, including VPC/VNet design, routing, load balancers, VPN, private connectivity, DNS, TLS, and PKI.
• Experience with at least two of AWS, Azure, and GCP, including government or sovereign variants, or the ability to ramp quickly on a new provider.
• Working knowledge of FedRAMP Moderate or High, NIST SP 800-53, FIPS 140-2/140-3, CIS Benchmarks or DISA STIGs, and implementing or evidencing cloud controls.
• Experience managing secrets, credentials, and certificates with HashiCorp Vault or similar tools; building CI/CD pipelines; and writing unit, integration, functional, or performance tests.
• Ability to script or code in Go, Python, or Java; contribute to Java/Spring Boot services; operate relational and search databases such as MySQL and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch; and communicate clearly with customers and government stakeholders.
• Self-starter who documents work, handles ambiguity, and collaborates across functions.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying SaaS platforms in customer-owned, sovereign, or air-gapped environments, including private registry mirroring and offline image distribution.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, GCP Assured Workloads, DoD Impact Levels, FedRAMP authorization, OpenStack-based Kubernetes, or other non-hyperscaler platforms.
• Experience with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, event-driven architecture, hirify.global, Kafka, SNS, configuration management tools, microservices, REST APIs, or JavaScript frameworks.
• CKA, CKAD, CKS, or professional-level cloud certifications.
