Solutions Engineer, Power

Location: On-site in the New York City or Pittsburgh office, with 25%–50% travel to customer sites.

Salary: $225,000–$290,000 starting base salary; bonuses, equity, and other compensation are excluded.

What you will do

• Lead configuration, deployment, and user training across a portfolio of customer sites from kickoff through go-live.
• Configure software and build, validate, and maintain site asset data against plant engineering documentation.
• Track requirements, timelines, risks, success metrics, and adoption while improving deployment playbooks.
• Resolve configuration and deployment issues, test workflows across development and production, and verify quality before customer milestones.
• Deliver demonstrations, training, and structured feedback sessions while coordinating with customers, Engineering, and commercial teams.
• Apply plant systems knowledge to investigate inaccurate outputs and provide prioritized field feedback to software engineering.

Requirements

• 5+ years in industrial operations, maintenance, or plant systems work, including experience where data accuracy was non-negotiable.
• Fluency in reading engineering drawings and explaining system function, design intent, and operating considerations.
• Experience building or maintaining accuracy-critical plant data, including CMMS or EAM master data such as SAP PM, Maximo, or JDE; DCS-to-historian tag mapping; or loop-check and instrument index verification.
• Experience integrating large-scale industrial software, including SCADA/HMI platforms, data historians, or plant information systems.
• Strong attention to detail when checking equipment tags, asset relationships, configurations, and documentation; thorough investigation and correction of discrepancies.
• Strong organization across multiple customer deployments, including requirements, milestones, follow-ups, and risks.
• Sound judgment with incomplete information and clear communication with plant operators, engineers, and corporate leaders.
• Willingness to use AI tools in daily work and verify their outputs for accuracy.
• Ability to travel 25%–50% of the time to customer sites.

Nice to have

• Direct industrial customer experience in deployment, field service, applications engineering, account management, or technical training.
• Hands-on field experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or system walkdowns using P&IDs and electrical one-lines.
• Ability to write code or control logic and explain component interactions and failure points in complex systems.
