Business Unit Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: Parsippany, NJ, US; hybrid, mainly remote with some on-site work required

Salary: $115,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Direct and manage general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost accounting in line with corporate policy and GAAP.
• Prepare budgets, annual operating plans, forecasts, financial reports, cost-center reporting, inventory reporting, and valuation analyses.
• Perform monthly close activities, including journal entries and month-end analysis.
• Analyze variance drivers, identify root causes, and support cost-management and cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare financial data for profitability studies and capital projects, including post-completion audits.
• Validate financial aspects of Salesforce sales opportunities and collaborate with finance, commercial, and international colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–7 years of Accounting or Finance experience in an import/export or manufacturing environment.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong experience with SAP and knowledge of management accounting and inventory systems.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to understand and apply GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex business issues clearly to department heads and corporate leadership.
• Strong organization, prioritization, and time-management skills to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with procurement, supply-chain operations, importation, duty payment, and other corporate departments.
• Experience with Salesforce and opportunity validation.
• Experience working in an international environment, particularly with Latin America.
