Senior Software Engineer, Experimentation Platform

What you will do

• Build and extend experimentation, feature flagging, and product configuration clients and supporting services.
• Co-own JVM-based client libraries and services used by thousands of engineers.
• Design and lead cross-team migrations, including API evolution, deprecations, and safe migration of consuming services.
• Improve the testability, performance, reliability, and adoption of widely deployed client libraries.
• Develop allocation and targeting capabilities such as holdouts and mutually exclusive experiments with data science partners.
• Participate in design, implementation, testing, on-call, and Python service work where needed; use AI-assisted development for migrations, tests, and refactoring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience shipping production-quality code.
• Strong experience with a JVM language, specifically Java or Kotlin, and with building libraries or services used by other developers.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and API design, including backward compatibility and versioning.
• Experience driving cross-team changes such as migrations or deprecations involving many consumers, with the communication skills and track record to lead multi-team projects.
• Hands-on daily fluency with AI-assisted development, including coding agents and LLM tools, and the ability to verify their output.
• Comfort working with Python and other layers of the stack, or willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Experience with feature flagging or product configuration systems, experimentation platforms, or web and mobile clients.
• Experience with latency-sensitive, high-throughput client SDKs.
