Frontend JavaScript Developer Lead (Fintech)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site, and on-site work required to successfully perform the role

What you will do

• Design and develop flexible, personalized front-end web applications for complex enterprise-scale projects.
• Plan and lead technical design, development, integration, and maintenance across applications connected to multiple back-end systems.
• Coordinate complex application programming activities, including infrastructure, databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
• Develop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with the bank’s strategy and business goals.
• Lead projects involving back-end systems, emerging technologies, and enhancements to existing applications.
• Lead the mobile development team, run code reviews, and mentor intermediate and senior developers.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience developing front-end web applications using JavaScript.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a technical discipline.
• Legal eligibility to work at the specified location; a valid work or study permit may be required.
• Ability to work collaboratively, support clients, and demonstrate strong relationship-building and communication skills.
