Senior Data Engineer

Salary: $96,616.00–$180,000.00 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Translate business and product problems into data-related or mathematical solutions, use cases, projects, and actionable requirements.
• Identify suitable data sources, perform initial data quality checks, extract data, and build transformation and integration pipelines.
• Design and evaluate logical and physical data models, including data warehouses, data marts, relational tables, keys, stored procedures, and efficient data flows.
• Develop, test, document, and deploy code; create proofs of concept, test cases, playbooks, and production updates.
• Analyze data integration challenges and provide recommendations, business cases, insights, and solutions to stakeholders.
• Establish and implement data governance practices, interpret regulatory and company policies, and educate stakeholders on governance processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field plus 1 year of software engineering or related experience; or a bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 3 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience translating product vision into product strategy and roadmaps, conducting end-user research, identifying user stories, and defining an MVP.
• Experience evaluating industry innovation and technology-platform research, and establishing product goals, metrics, and analytics for product value outcomes.
• Experience leading requirements gathering and applying Agile methodologies to define user problem statements, use cases, and functional requirements.
• Experience documenting requirements in PRD, BRD, epics, features, persona journey maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria formats.
• Experience conducting user acceptance testing and product demonstrations within an iterative development process.
• Experience designing and implementing RDBMS databases, using SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience tracking application progress with JIRA and documenting product information and solutions with Confluence.
• Any amount of experience with the required skills will be accepted.
