Senior Russian Legal Linguist

Location: Remote within Italy, France, Greece, Romania, or Spain

What you will do

• Perform copy-editing and on-demand translation for assigned projects and accounts.
• Serve as lead linguist and take ownership of deliveries translated internally or by external partners into Russian.
• Prepare, manage, and maintain glossaries, style guides, and work instructions.
• Coordinate freelancers, agencies, internal linguists, and vendors, including testing and qualifying new suppliers.
• Resolve terminology and language queries with team members and clients.
• Train linguists and contribute to process improvements while meeting productivity, delivery, and quality targets.

Requirements

• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Native-level Russian proficiency and fluent written and spoken English.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing, including 5+ years in linguistic review and copy-editing.
• Thorough understanding of the localization process and legal terminology, including intellectual property, patents, agreements, trademarks, copyright, and IP litigation.
• Experience serving as a subject-matter expert for assigned content specialties, service lines, and processes.
• Excellent user experience with standard CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Trados Studio, issue-tracking and query-management tools such as JIRA, and Windows and Office applications.
• Ability to learn new localization tools quickly, provide constructive feedback, coordinate translators, and train or teach others.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, problem-solving, and customer communication skills.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines, handle limited standardization and practical variables, and work effectively in a virtual team.
