Translation Project Manager (AI)

Location: Naxxar, Malta; hybrid working with home office on Mondays and Fridays and designated remote work for two months per year. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Malta.

What you will do

• Manage translation and localisation projects from initial enquiry, file analysis, and quotation through final delivery.
• Assess source files, reference materials, and technical requirements; plan workflows using traditional translation, MTPE, and AI-assisted processes.
• Select, qualify, brief, and coordinate linguists and reviewers while monitoring performance.
• Manage quality assurance, including automated checks, linguistic review, terminology consistency, technical and file verification, and corrective actions.
• Act as the primary client contact, provide advice, manage expectations, follow up on quotations and deliveries, and identify additional business opportunities.
• Monitor deadlines, quality, risks, budgets, profitability, project records, translation resources, and workflow improvements.

Requirements

• Experience in translation or localisation project management, preferably within a language service provider.
• Knowledge of translation production workflows, CAT tools, translation management systems, and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and demanding deadlines independently.
• Commercial awareness, attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and strong organisational ability.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Initiative, reliability, sound judgement, and a genuine interest in technology.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Additional languages, particularly German.
• Practical experience with MTPE, machine translation, and AI-assisted language workflows.
• Experience with XTM, memoQ, Across, Plunet Business Manager, or comparable systems; knowledge of every platform is not expected.
