Life Underwriting Intern, Year-round

Location: Milwaukee, WI Corporate; hybrid

Compensation: $16.50–$30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Support Life Underwriting teams with workflow activities and selected underwriting cases.
• Partner with case managers and underwriters to progress life insurance applications and support advisors and clients.
• Analyze operational data and trends, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to process and workflow enhancements.
• Explore and optimize AI-enabled tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to streamline work and improve knowledge sharing.
• Support Underwriting Relationship Managers with Network Office partnerships, meeting preparation, communications, education materials, and issue resolution.
• Research field feedback, service trends, and advisor insights to improve underwriting experiences and field engagement.

Requirements

• Incoming junior or senior with expected graduation within 1–2 years.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Management, Communications, Operations, or a related field at an accredited college or university.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong interest in financial services, underwriting, operations, customer experience, or relationship management.
• Employer immigration sponsorship is not available.
