Staff Software Engineer (Java/TypeScript)

Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089, United States; onsite

Salary: $143,000–$286,000 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Assess software products, requirements, gaps, risks, change requests, and trade-offs to support business and technical needs.
• Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot scalable software applications, components, REST APIs, GraphQL services, and microservices.
• Monitor application performance, availability, telemetry, logs, maintenance data, and metrics; resolve bottlenecks and defects.
• Create detailed software designs, user stories, automation scripts, and CI/CD, testing, and configuration solutions.
• Develop test strategies, select testing tools, create comprehensive test cases, and support test execution and regression testing.
• Conduct code reviews and implement secure, highly available, highly scalable, and low-maintenance solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 1 year of software engineering or related experience; or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of these areas plus 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience designing and implementing REST API web services with Java and TypeScript, and building scalable microservices with REST and GraphQL.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, React, Angular, HTML5, SCSS, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Splunk, Grafana, CDN, Akamai MMS, GCP, Node.js, Cordova, iOS and Android application development, and Stoplight API documentation.
• Experience with secure and scalable NoSQL data access using ORM, JWT and browser cookies, RxJS operators, and authorization validation services.
• Experience meeting Section 508 compliance and web standards using CCA, SortSite, NVDA, and Axe.
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks including Mocha, Karma, Jasmine, Jest, and Protractor.
• Experience using Git for version control and Angular Material 10 for in-house widget styling.
• Any amount of graduate coursework, graduate research experience, or professional experience with the required skills is accepted.
