Business Data Analyst – P&C Insurance

Location: NJ-Jersey City, United States; other locations include NC-Charlotte and GA-Atlanta. Team members are expected to be primarily in the office.

Base salary: $85,000–$110,000 annually, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Identify business intelligence and data analysis needs and translate data into information that supports business decisions.
• Work with clients to prioritize business requirements, define KPIs, and support the BI and data warehouse strategy.
• Collaborate with business and development teams to design and document dashboards, alerts, and reports.
• Lead requirements-gathering projects and present findings to all levels of management.
• Analyze functional business processes and requirements and drive user-story development as part of an Agile Scrum team.
• Educate and train clients to use data as an analytical tool.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and progressive experience.
• 5+ years of Business Data Analyst experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research complex data-oriented problems.
• Proactive, results-driven approach and ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
• Experience working on an Agile team as a BA/PO.
• Data profiling experience and strong SQL skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.

Nice to have

• Commercial property and casualty insurance and financial-principles experience.
• Technical experience with BI tools and Python.
• Exposure to APIs and understanding of XML and JSON.
• Exposure to AI.
