R&D VCSEL Designer (Optoelectronics)

What you will do

• Design GaAs-based VCSEL devices and VCSEL technology platforms.
• Develop epitaxial structures, mask layouts, wafer fabrication flows, and processes including etching, metallization, dielectric passivation, implantation, oxidation, and wafer fusion.
• Characterize laser diodes at wafer probe and chip-on-carrier across LIV, spectra, polarization stability, near-field, and far-field beam parameters under CW and pulsed operation.
• Analyze device data and physics to correlate characterization results with epitaxy, fabrication, emitter design, and die layout inputs.
• Use modeling and analysis to improve device performance and coordinate design, fabrication, characterization, manufacturing, and product release activities.
• Generate intellectual property from new design and manufacturing ideas.

Requirements

• PhD in optoelectronics or a relevant field, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Experience with VCSEL design and wafer fabrication.
• Knowledge of semiconductor device physics, process technology, and equipment.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, or Minitab.
• Experience with photomask layout and data processing using Python or Matlab.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams as both a leader and contributor.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• PhD with industry experience.
• Optoelectronic device modeling covering electrical, optical, and thermal behavior.
